Music is his life...

A rustic, vintage looking layout using a ton of Tim Holtz and Ranger products.  Love it!  The layout is featuring the love of my life, Charles.  This is the most talented man you will ever meet, amongst other amazing qualities.  I love the look on his face.  This man can play drums, guitar, bass, piano, can sing, writes, mixes and produces all his own music.  What kind of music you ask?  Rock music, of course!

The journaling reads:
Music has been the lifetime story and dream for Charles.  Ever since the age of 3 when he began learning to play the drums.  May 2009.

The star is grungeboard by Tim Holtz that I embossed, scratched with a nail and than distressed it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  The hinges on either side of the page are also grunge board by Tim Holtz-I first inked them with Pumice Stone Distress Ink, then covered them in Rock Candy Crackle Paint, and then inked on top of that with Walnut Stain Disress ink so that the cracks in the crackle paint would show up better.

The large gear was cut out of old sheet music using my Cricut and Gypsy.  I used the rest of the sheet music at the top of my layout underneath the title.  I inked them using Walnut Stain Distress Ink to give them a more vintage feel and then sprayed them with Bronze Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist.  Because-let's face it.  No project is complete without at least a little sparkle!  It's hard to see the sparkle in the photo, but believe me, it's there.

The metal gears and "lifetime" token on the left hand side are also by Tim Holtz, as are the "story" and "dream" adage tickets.

Title was created using flocked chip board by My Minds Eye and printed "is his life" from my MAC.  The compass on the right hand side is an overlay and the ticket at the bottom with the journaling is from Maya Road.

Thanks for taking a peak!
Christine

Wow! I had no idea he played so many different instruments. He is so talented! I love this page, Christine, and I love the journal entry. I always think those are the most important part to the scrap page. You did awesome on this one. Does Charles like these pages? Just curious :) Wonderfully put together, as usual!!

He loves this stuff! I made him a couple of albums when he lived in Dallas ad he was just floored. You're right-journaling is very important. The design, photo and page itself helps to tell the story, but the importance of words is undeniable.

I love having a "studio" where he creates music and I work on my scrapping. We share our arts with each other and give ideas and suggestions to one another. Pure bliss! The only way it could be any better is if the studio had a giant window facing the ocean. :-) It will happen, one day.
