In the Creative Groove!

This is my first project of any sort since my last scrapbooking retreat at the end of February.  I've been inspired by this photo of Charles for quite some time, and now that he actually lives here he inspires me even more.  Not to mention the tiny baby boy hanging out in my uterus that is no longer making me feel like vomiting every minute of the day.  :-)  So, here it is!  It symbolizes the American dream of becoming a musician who has "made it".  Whatever that means in today's music world.  The word "hope" is hanging by a thread to represent, well, hope....hanging by a thread.  :-)

I first sprayed my white card stock (even thought the card stock looks blue, it's actually white) with blue glimmer spray to give it a graffiti feel.  I stamped two of my stars (top and bottom stars) with an embossing ink, and then dusted them with perfect pearls and hit them with my Martha Stewart heat gun for a minute to keep the perfect pearls from falling off.  I used white acrylic paint to brush over the metal "hope" word stick.  Using a tissue, I wiped off the excess paint to reveal a more prominent word.  Otherwise the word was the same color was the rest of the metal.  I brushed Denim Blue alcohol ink by Ranger Industries on the 3 metal pieces with a piece of felt to give them a blue tint.  Alcohol ink is fabulous for plastic and metal pieces because the color doesn't rub off.  I cut the word "DREAM" from my quickutz revolution using the Diesel font and used one of those nifty label makers for the word "american".  I cut the stars and guitar using my Cricut Expression and Cricut Gypsy.

I then adhered my guitar die cut, my stars and photo using a regular glue stick and the metal pieces with metal glue. The last items I adhered was my title.

Nothing new to post in quite some time.  I did attend another awesome retreat at the end of February, but due to being pregnant, haven't really had energy to post anything.  I will be back on track, soon!  I've begun to feel more energized now that I'm in my 2nd trimester, and visions of sparkly Stickles and scrapbook pages have begun to creep back into my mind.  Mostly, I'm daydreaming about all the fun things I'll get to create with a brand new baby!  :-)

Stay tuned!  I'm not done scrapping!
