The 12 Tags of Christmas-Day 1

Wednesday, December 2, 2009
As I've discussed before, try as I may, I just can't seem to stop with the shopping.  And I'm not talking about closets and closets of shoes and sweaters.  I'm talking about stacks and stacks of papers, distress inks, stickles and embellishments.  I have an overwhelming desire to own all the pretty patterened papers and colored glitter glues, inks and tools, that I just can't even help myself.

Right now, my favorite designer, Tim Holtz, is hosting The 12 Tags of Christmas and has totally inspired me to actually USE some of the stuff that I've accumulated (and also inspired me to go out and buy more stuff).  Tim is amazingly talented and creative. For those of you who aren't big into scrapping,Tim has his own line of inks in every color, stickles, grungeboard and other beautiful items,  to add to your cards, scrapbook pages and other craft projects. With the 12 tags of Christmas that started on Demember 1st, he posts a new tag that he's designed each day(or night-he's been posting them at midnight or so each night).  Then us loyal, die hard Holtz followers ooh, aah and comment over his beautiful creations and try to interpret and create something of our own using his same techniques.  Then, what's even better, is that he gives away a TON of free product to several lucky winners who have commented on is amazing works of art.  How fun is THAT?!  These tags can be used on gifts, your scrapbook pages, or cards.  So without further ado, here is my interpretation of the first tag.

For step by step instructions on how to make your own, visit Tim's blog!  I substituted items for product that I had on hand.
